How did Bob Proctor go from making $4000 to $175,000 in just ONE year? And then in a short time later making millions?

In 1961, Bob Proctor was working at a fire house in Canada making $4000 a year. The problem was he was $6000 in debt. He would have to work an entire year without spending any money on food, rent and other necessities in order to get out of debt. It is very important that you have a goal. Whether it is to make $200.00 per month or $10,000 per month or to retire in so many years. Write it down, post it by your computer and read it every day. Never lose sight of this goal and you will succeed.

Persistance

If you want to reach your goal be persistent and consistent in promoting your business. Don't start and stop...it won't work. Remember an internet business is like an offline business. It takes 2 - 5 years to make any real money. There is no such thing as "get rich quick". There will be times when there will be little or no results from your efforts but never give up and success will come your way.

If you have surfed on the internet then I’m sure you have seen banner ads. Banner ads are small, rectangular advertisements that appear on most web pages. They vary in appearance and subject matter but they share the same function; when you click on them, they will take you to the advertiser’s website.

Banner ads can be highly effective if used properly. Business owners who are considering using banner ads should spend time researching how to use them effectively and find the ideal location for their ads.

The best location for a banner ad is prominently displayed on a high-traffic website that complements your products or services but does not compete with them. This advertising can cost money…lots of money.

Probably the best way to get your banner seen is through a banner exchange program. A banner exchange program is a network of web sites that advertise for one another using banners. A central server stores and displays the banners for everyone. When a user clicks on a banner, the server sends the user to the correct site. This action is called a click-thru. Each time a banner is displayed is called an impression.

Even though banner ads don’t always produce great results, I still feel they are an additional way to get visitors to your site. We all want more visitors and banner ads are a cost-effective way to get them.

A text ad exchange is a network where participating sites display text ads in exchange for credits which are converted (using a predetermined exchange rate) into ads to be displayed on other sites.

Text ads are easy to create and the results can be measured instantly. There is no need to spend money designing banners or thinking about which designs to use. With text ads, you can also experiment with different ad copies and headlines to find out what works and what doesn't work.

I looked into text ad exchanges to see if they work. I found maximumbuilder.net. The owners call it a
"free marketing club that builds a downline for you in one of the most popular programs on the internet right now--text ad exhanges".

When you first signup, you will be provided with an affiliate link to promote. Once you update the programs page with your own affiliate ID's, then you can start to promote their program.When a new member signs up through your affiliate link, they will undertake the same setup -- joining the programs on the program page under your affiliate ID, then entering their own affiliate ID's into the programs page. When they promote their affiliate link, their signups will do the exact same thing and fill out their affiliate links on the program page. You also have the ability to add up to 5 of your own programs.

The idea of maximumbuilder.net is that you can promote over 100 programs with one link and that makes your advertising efforts easy. Make sure you have an gmail account because you will receive many emails from the different programs you join. You earn credits for clicking on these emails. These credits can be used for solo ads, banner links, navigation links, login page ads and more. I only click on one ad per program and I only do that once or twice a week. If I did more, my hand would go numb!

Most of these 100 programs also have an html ad you can post. Some of the exchanges will let you post 1 ad and some up to 10 per day (text and html). You can save the ad so you can post the same ad everyday. This saves a lot of time.

As with safelists, you do need an eye-catching headline so people will want to click on your ad. I like to have a brain-storming session every now and then and write down everything that comes to mind.

I have had some success with text ad exchanges. I promote a link only in these exchanges so I know if they work. I get leads and sign ups so I know text ad exchanges work. I don't always have the time to use them consistently but I find they are a good addition to my advertising efforts. Try a few and see what you think.

So what exactly is a safelist and how do you use them?

A safelist is an email list that you can join for free, and in return for joining, you are allowed to email out to the entire list of members of the safelist. The reason it is called "safe" is because all the subscribers are "opt in", which means they have chosen to give their email address. It is not, therefore, considered to be SPAM because any mail received would be deemed to be solicited.

There are thousands of safelists on the internet. Many are free to join and many charge a fee. This fee can be a small lifetime fee, an annual fee, or a monthly fee to retain the privilege of sending emails to the rest of the members. Paying for a safelist doesn't necessarily mean they are better. There are many great free safelists out there.

You will need 2 email accounts. I recommend Gmail. You need one for all the emails you will receive (list email) and one for the safelist owners to contact you (contact email). I bookmark my safelists in folders of 10 -15 each. I use Mozilla Firefox browser (free) so I can bring up the safelist folders in tabs. It is much easier to go tab to tab (I do this with my traffic exchanges too). I also save my ads in a document so I can copy and paste the ad into the safelist. This saves a lot of time.

The most important part of emailing from a safelist is your SUBJECT LINE. You need it to be eye- catching so people will want more information

(Hint: Never Cap Out your subject line- that is a spam trigger; you can use certain words like "FREE" if you handle it like "F.R.E.E" or a similar way)

I believe safelists are a critical part of every
marketers arsenal, and if you do not use safelists you
are missing out on a huge and very cost effective form
of advertising.

A traffic exchange is a real traffic alternative. Basically, you receive exposure for your own website, banner ads and text links by viewing the sites and ads of other people. These programs provide you with a very powerful and cost effective way of::

1. Putting your product/service in front of a very diverse audience

2. Seeing what other people are promoting

3. Getting an idea of how your competition is targeting their campaigns

4. Branding your name, gather leads and even make sales

Traffic exchanges are member based, so you will need to open an account with each one you intend to use. This is a simple task that can be completed injust a few minutes and they are FREE. You can upgrade if you choose but it is not necessary (I don't)..

Traffic exchanges work on a credit system. Members earn credits by participating in a variety of ways and then use these credits on website visitors to their own pages, websites, banner ads and text links.

By maintaining active memberships in a few good exchanges, you can generate a tremendous flow of traffic for any website you want to advertise. When used properly, these resources are an excellent way to promote just about anything.
